Green for Grenfell is a creative campaign started by schools in West London in the days following the Grenfell Tower fire.
On 14th June 2017, a fire in a tower block in West London spread quickly out of control. It was suspected and later confirmed that recently installed exterior cladding had acted as highly combustible fuel for the fire. This, together with a lack of adequate preparation from emergency services, led to the deaths of at least 72 people and a deeply traumatised community of thousands.
Green for Grenfell exists as a way to provide actions of love, solidarity and support for all those affected by the tragic and deeply troubling events of 14th June 2017.
Green for Grenfell activities may be carried out freely by anyone who wishes to show love and solidarity for those affected by Grenfell.
This website and the Facebook page show examples of activities led by West London arts group, Brownbaby, mostly focused on illuminations and Notting Hill Carnival. It is intended to act as an inspiration for anyone who wishes to support the communities of Grenfell and North Kensington by going green for Grenfell.
